"Take the `L' out of Lover and it's over"? "Apocalypso"? "Tragic Surf," for Christ's sake? They've got to be kidding. But Martha Davis torches so enthusiastically that the result is about as funny as Meat Loaf--so "subtle" that nobody naive enough to buy the record will catch on. She has better taste in music than Jim Steinman, though. C+
