Web Maillist Pazz & Jop: Introduction

This variation on the Pazz & Jop poll was set up for the people who have signed up for the webinfo @ robertchristgau.com mail list (approx. 20 people at the time). Since most of the people on that mail list have contributed to this website, we surmised that (a) they must be pretty knowledgeable music listeners, and (b) they basically understand how the poll works.

This poll has one additional wrinkle from the Village Voice Critics Poll: beyond the top ten records (100 votes, maximum 30, minimum 5) voters can also select another 10 records to receive 3 votes each, another 10 records to receive 2 votes each, and any number of additional records to receive 1 vote each. This gives us a little extra depth.

In addition to the totals, you can look at each voter's ballot, and you can click on an album and find out who voted for it. The numbers listed on in the totals table are first the total votes, then in parentheses the number of voters. [CG] indicates that Robert Christgau has reviewed the record, and takes you to his Consumer Guide review.
