Subjects for Further Research [1970s]: The most gifted of the lesbian folk-rockers (let's call a spade a spade) who gravitated toward Olivia Records in the mid-'70s, she sang and arranged The Changer and the Changed with unmistakable grace. But the organically self-righteous aura of community she and her sisters gathered around themselves was meant to protect them from me and everyone else with a penis, and it worked.
