Depreciated [Rounder, 2021]
Though this Nashville 35-year-old bats at least .500 on his melodically sweet-talking Americana debut, he does make you wonder what the connection might be between a beguiling opener in which his return home has him worrying about running into his ex and the fact that his two sharpest songs are about vehicles. Neither of which, as "Motor's Fried" goes so far as to convert into metaphor, runs that good. B+
