Consumer Guide Reviews:
Love Has Got Me [Warner Bros., 1973]
Female chauvinism and a young lifetime's worth of melodies drew me to Waldman's reflections on trains, pirates, horses, show business, and of course love. Then Carola pointed out that this was the kind of woman who not only pronounces Mexico Mehico--as in "Gringo en Mexico"--but who flings back her right arm and says "Ole!" as she does so. One reason I married Carola is that she's not much interested in trains, pirates, or horses. Show business and love are universals. B-
Gypsy Symphony [Warner Bros., 1974]
Waldman, one of the tougher female singer-songwriters provides a cautionary paradox for her sisters and herself, to wit: "Don't let your love get in the way/My good lover said." C+
