Not only did the single break the new wave/disco barrier, it packed an instant wallop worthy of its title--you could hear it explode up the charts from moment of impact. All that's audible here is Robin Scott straining to duplicate his own lighthearted, worldly-wise eclecticism and exposing himself as a hopeless dilettante in the process. C
